We believe that God desires to bless us and that we are instructed to bless others on His behalf. Here are some versus that support that claim. Genesis 12:1-3 Philippians 2:1-4 Luke 18:29-30 Many people don't believe that God loves them because they think that God just wants them to give up fun things. They blame God when they suffer and so God becomes this tyrant who seeks everything from us and gives nothing but pain in return. Who would want to follow such a god? God uses us to bless others. Many people fail to see experience God's blessings because we, the church, have failed to bless them. It is certainly true that God can and does bless people without us, but we were designed to do it for Him. A part of that yearning that we experience as followers of Christ is our built in need to bless people. We believe that as we bless others they will begin to see God's love for them.
Every month our Family Groups gather to serve and bless a neighbor. They might do yard work, do painting, clean a house, provide child care, or anything else that blesses someone. It is an opportunity to invite others to join us in serving others so that as they bless others they can experience God's blessings.
Christians who feel like their relationship with Jesus has stalled, often feel this way because they have not been experiencing the blessings of God. When this happens we rarely have something to cheer about or to praise God about. We believe that when we actively bless others we will more clearly see how Jesus is not only blessing us but our neighbors as well and that is something to be excited about.
As we learn to bless others as a community we will better see and understand how to bless others in our daily life and God will become alive each and every day.
